The Ask: By February 28, 2022: Complete TWO of the following:
Arrange for automated and recurring payroll direct deposit or monthly recurring pension direct deposit
Set up at least 2 pre-authorized bill payment
Set up at least two (2) bill payments to a service provider (e.g., utility bill, cable, etc.) from RBC acount
The downside: The multi-product rebate doesn’t completely cover the monthly fee of these two chequing accounts. The monthly fee after the multi-product rebate is still $15.95 (this is an increase in $1 from before) for the No Limit Banking Account and is $30 for the RBC VIP Banking Account. Also, you can’t have had a personal banking RBC account in the last 5 years otherwise you are not eligible.
The biggest downside is that if you cancel your account before Feb. 28, 2023, RBC has the right to debit your Eligible Personal Banking Account or any of your accounts with RBC for the value of the iPad (and if you don’t have an account with them, they will invoice you). So essentially you have to pay $15.95 to $30 minimum for about 12 months, which is almost $200 to $360 for your free iPad.
